Our Story

Hard work, entrepreneurship and passion are cornerstones to what makes up Denise. As a single mother of three children, she has always worked hard for her family. Growing up and raising her children in the Rocky Mountain region has always been important to her.  She spent most of her time living in Red Lodge, Montana, with her family. At one point, she opened a Sub sandwich and Ice cream shop called Cravings and got her first taste of business ownership. She now lives in Montrose, Colorado, and even though her own kids are grown and out of the house, she has not slowed down. When asked what she likes to do in her down time, she responds, “Cooking, camping and arts & crafts are some of my favorite things to do.”

Denise has always had a talent for cooking and experimenting in culinary arts. During her years of cooking for family, she acquired an array of spices and herbs that she would use in her dishes. While never using or following a written recipe, she always knew which spice or herb would give her meals the right flavor that may be missing or give it that extra taste. “I love mixing spices and combining the ingredients to improve the flavor profile of food”, she says.

When asked why and how she got into making tea, she states, “I love herbal teas and started four years ago growing herbs in my tea garden. I was able to make herbal tea by cultivating the herbs and combining them together with the spices I already had.” Growing and blending teas together is more than a business and passion for Denise. She uses them for her personal health to manage stress and problems with depression. After reading and researching the benefits of tea and certain herbs, she found the right blends to bring balance to her health and life.

After many holidays and birthdays sending tea to family and friends, she received a lot of positive feedback and decided to start her own tea business. Denise says, “It has taken me two years to be able to sell my product and I decided to start at the local Farmers Market.” She makes tea in small batches to keep everything fresh and the quality high. With the use of organic herbs and locally sourced fruit, such as the popular Palisade Peaches, her teas are all natural with no artificial flavoring.

Denise’s “Tea Mission” is to give everyone a “whole tea experience”. When asked what that means, she says, “All of your senses are involved in enjoying the tea. From the first time you see it, to smelling the aroma and finally tasting the tea and savoring the delectable cup!”

Since starting Teas 2 Please, she has developed flavors and lines for every season. Certain teas are great only hot or iced and some can be either. While she loves sharing her creations, she hopes others can find happiness and health through her teas, as she has.
